Weather conditions change very quickly here. A camper wants to have several layers of clothes
If it is hot you can take layers off, if it gets cold, you can put layers on. The outer shell of your outfit should be waterproof.
Please remember that your clothes will get very dirty on fairly rugged terrain!
- 3 pairs of Pants/Jeans. (Nylon pants with zip-off legs are the best)
- Shorts whose length extends to the bottom of your fingers when standing straight up
- 2 Sweaters/sweatshirts or 1 polar fleece jacket (polar fleece dry out faster)
- Hat and/or knit cap and 2 bandanas
- Waterproof Jacket and Pants
- Shirt, long-sleeved medium-weight
- Underclothes
- Sleeved tee-shirts
- Socks (light and medium-weight); bring more than you normally wear
- Hiking boots and/or good walking shoes (hard-soled with traction)
- Tennis shoes or "sneakers"
- Light pair of gloves
- Washcloths and towels
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Soap and shampoo (biodegradable)
- Sleeping bag rated for at least down to 40 degrees
- Flashlight
- Bible
- Pens/pencils and writing pad
- Swimsuit (one piece, modest)
- Sleepwear (pajamas)
- Laundry Bag (no laundry service provided except in emergencies)
- Insect repellent
- Bug head-net
- Pillow
- Rucksack or small backpack
- Insulated vest (this is a suggested item)
- Camera/film (waterproof case a must)
- Sunglasses
- Pocket knife
- Suntan lotion
- Lip salve
- Canteen
- Money
